Job Summary
Plan, organize, and conduct daily volleyball practices focusing on skill development, tactics, and conditioning. Develop game strategies and lead the team during matches, ensuring effective communication and motivation. Monitor and support the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes while coordinating with the varsity head coach to align training programs and facilitate player advancement. Manage team logistics including scheduling, equipment maintenance, and compliance with school and league regulations. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, sportsmanship, and inclusivity by engaging with parents, school staff, and athletic directors to communicate team progress and address concerns.
Required Qualifications
- Experience playing or coaching volleyball at the high school level or higher
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required coaching certifications or clearances as mandated by the school or state
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to mentor adolescent athletes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience coaching junior varsity or varsity volleyball teams
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and concussion management
- Background in physical education, sports science, or a related field
- Experience working within a school athletic program or youth sports organization
- Familiarity with athlete development models and sports psychology principles
