Job Summary
Conduct daily track coaching, developing practice schedules and assigning team positions while instructing players on rules, techniques, and equipment. Determine game strategies based on team capabilities and observe athletes during competition to identify improvement needs. Manage team logistics by scheduling facilities with the athletic director, maintaining eligibility records and equipment inventories, and driving athletes to off-campus games on the district bus. Establish behavior standards, monitor academic performance, and represent the school at booster meetings and award nights.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
- Arizona Teaching Certificate OR Arizona Coaching Certificate
- NFHS Level I Certification (Includes Concussion in Sports, Fundamentals of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Protecting Students from Abuse)
- NFHS First Aid, Health and Safety Certificate / CPR
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and community
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of the sport
- Ability to adhere to administrative policies and directives of the program
- Must be able to drive athletes using district transportation to and from off campus games on 14 passenger Activity Bus and provide proof of insurance as requested
Desired Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience preferred
