Job Summary
Conduct daily basketball coaching, developing practice schedules, assessing player skills, and determining game strategies based on team capabilities. Instruct athletes on rules, equipment, and techniques while observing performance to identify improvement needs. Manage team logistics by scheduling facilities, assigning duties to assistants, and maintaining eligibility records, equipment inventories, and insurance data. Monitor academic performance to ensure eligibility and follow state regulations governing the athletic program. Represent the school by communicating with booster clubs, parents, and officials, and potentially drive athletes to off-campus games.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
- Arizona Teaching Certificate OR Arizona Coaching Certificate
- NFHS Level I Certification (Includes Concussion in Sports, Fundamentals of Coaching, Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Protecting Students from Abuse)
- NFHS First Aid, Health and Safety Certificate / CPR
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and community
- Knowledge of fundamental principles of the sport
- Ability to adhere to administrative policies and directives of the program
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs
- Must be able to lift 10 lbs

- Must have finger dexterity

- Must be able to drive athletes using district transportation to and from off campus games on 14 passenger Activity Bus
- Must provide proof of insurance as requested
Desired Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience preferred
