Boys Cross Country Assistant Coach Fall 2026

Hamtramck Public Schools is seeking a Boys Cross Country Assistant Coach for Fall 2026 (seasonal/stipend). The coach will plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the Cross-Country program, supervise and mentor assistant coaches, develop game strategies and practice plans, and lead student-athletes to success in academics and athletics. The role requires collaboration with school leadership, athletics staff, and families, and entails after-school practices, games, and team activities. Qualifications include previous coaching experience; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred; and demonstrated ability to teach Cross-Country fundamentals, sportsmanship, leadership, and discipline, with experience working with students in an educational setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are emphasized. The position emphasizes promoting good sportsmanship, positive team culture, and academic accountability within an educational setting, reporting to the Athletic Director/School Principal.
