Boys Basketball Varsity Coach

Job Summary
Coaching role for boys basketball at the middle school level. Responsibilities include developing student-athletes and team in alignment with district equity commitments, planning team events and activities with school administrators, promoting the sport within the school community, ensuring safety and appropriate supervision before, during, and after activities, maintaining equipment inventories, and providing clear standards and expectations consistent with the district family handbook. The ideal candidate will coach with inclusivity and foster a respectful, professional environment, communicate effectively with students, parents, and stakeholders, and pursue ongoing professional development to improve program performance. Requires current safety certifications (e.g., concussion certification) and guidance to support tryouts, progress assessment, and team development. Required Qualifications
- Past experience coaching middle school students
- Knowledge of the sport's rules, regulations, skills, and strategies
- Knowledge of effective coaching techniques and instructional methods for student-athletes
- Maintains current safety certifications (ie; concussion certification)
- Comprehensive knowledge of the sport including skills and strategies
- IESA coaching education completed, preferred
