Job Summary
Prepare effective practice and performance plans that encourage student participation, foster team rapport, and motivate participants to achieve their full potential. Provide leadership and expertise on basketball rules, strategies, and techniques while maintaining all equipment, including uniforms and inventory. Be an example of sportsmanship and supervise all areas of participation, including gyms, fields, locker rooms, buses, and pools. Work collaboratively with other coaching staff, the Activities Director, families, and community resources while maintaining compliance with all MSHSL rules and regulations. Demonstrate behavior consistent with the school's mission, faith, morals, and laws of the Church or the Archdiocese.
Required Qualifications
- Previous participation and/or coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level
- Knowledge of the specific equipment and events, physical fitness, and safety
- Ability to prepare effective practice and performance plans
- Ability to foster team rapport
- Ability to motivate participants to achieve their full potential
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaching staff, the Activities Director, families, and community resources
- Ability to maintain compliance with all MSHSL rules and regulations
- Ability to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with and supportive of the school's mission and purpose
- Behavior that does not violate the faith, morals, or laws of the Church or the Archdiocese
- Behavior that does not embarrass the school or cause scandal
