Job Summary
Develop the assigned sport's activities, including practice and competition schedules, season records, and equipment inventory. Supervise student athletes during practices and competitions, correct conduct as needed, and monitor academic progress to ensure eligibility. Notify athletes of policies, coordinate facilities and uniforms, and maintain the team roster. Lead preseason and postseason parent meetings, ensure physical examinations are completed, and report all injuries. Maintain IHSAA and NFHS certifications, CPR training, and association membership while fostering positive relationships with students, parents, and the community.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of the sport assigned
- Prior successful coaching experience
- Familiar with Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) rules
- Familiar with National Federal of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules
- IHSAA and NFHS Coaching Certification
- First Aid and CPR certified
- Knowledge and understanding of the concussion protocol
- Ability to communicate with parents and students
- Ability to address situations dealing with blood, bodily fluids, and tissue
- Ability to foster positive student-athlete relationships
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents and the community
- Exhibits high standards of professional ethics and conduct
- Successfully complete criminal history and DCS clearances
- Ability to demonstrate the appropriate skills and techniques to be used by the athletes
- Visually able to monitor athlete's performance
- Ability to lift, reach, and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
- Remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace
- Adhere to and agree to adhere to PTS Core Values, the PTS Strategic Plan, and all PTS District policies and guidelines
Desired Qualifications
