Job Summary
Support the Hillsboro School District athletic objectives and code by organizing and conducting the boys basketball program to meet school and participant needs. Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, assistant coaches, and staff while maintaining student supervision and adhering to district procedures. Ensure all coaching responsibilities align with school policies, including current CPR/First Aid certification, concussion management, and OSAA requirements. Complete background checks and maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information. Work harmoniously with the coaching team and other school personnel to foster physical, intellectual, and social growth among participants.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in and/or knowledge of the sport, coaching techniques, and student supervision
- Ability and willingness to successfully communicate with student/athletes, parents, assistant coaches, and other school staff in both verbal and written forms
- Ability to perform coaching responsibilities in accordance with school and District procedures and policies
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Current Concussion Management and updates on all other OSAA requirements
- Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, or District patrons
- The ability to work harmoniously with others
- Successful completion of background check
