Job Summary
Oversee end-to-end boundary managed service delivery, including design, implementation, and operations for UK defence network perimeters. Manage boundary security SLAs, lead round-the-clock monitoring and threat detection teams, and establish quality standards across multiple customer accounts. Design and implement security architectures for firewalls, intrusion detection, and DDDoS protection aligned with MOD requirements. Lead incident detection, investigation, and response while conducting post-incident reviews and compliance reporting. Manage team leadership, customer relationships, and service expansion opportunities to drive operational efficiency and account growth. Maintain DV clearance and 10 years UK residency required.
Required Qualifications
- DV clearance
- 10 years continuous UK residency
- Minimum 10 years' boundary security or network security experience
- Minimum 4 years managing boundary security operations or managed security services
- Strong background in defence, aerospace or government security programmes
- Demonstrated expertise with boundary security technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, DDoS protection)
- Track record of managing security operations teams and delivering managed services
- Expert-level knowledge of firewall technologies, intrusion detection/prevention systems and DDoS mitigation
- Strong understanding of network security architecture and boundary security design
- Proficiency in security incident investigation and threat analysis
- Knowledge of security event management, SIEM and log analysis
- Understanding of vulnerability assessment and remediation processes
- Knowledge of MOD security requirements, Classification Guides and defence standards
- Knowledge of managed service delivery models and SLA management
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities
- Outstanding customer engagement and communication skills
- Strong decision-making under pressure, particularly in security incidents
- Detail-oriented with strong focus on SLA compliance
- Commitment to security excellence and continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco or equivalent enterprise firewalls
- Experience with DDoS protection and advanced threat protection platforms
- CISSP or CCNP Security certification
- Armed Forces or military operations background
- Experience managing high-security managed services contracts
