Job Summary
Botanical Field Technician will conduct botany-focused field work across the Western US (primarily southern Nevada), including rare plant surveys, line-point intercept transects, botanical inventories, restoration and mitigation monitoring, vegetation mapping, and wetland surveys. Responsibilities include supporting the preparation of rare plant and botany-related survey reports and technical memorandums, and performing other surveys as needed. Travel is required and may approach 100% during the field season. Equipment such as GPS units and field tools are provided; candidates must supply suitable rugged footwear. Requires a Bachelor's degree (preferred) in botany/natural resources or related field, strong plant identification skills, independence, and effective collaboration with project managers and field staff. Must be in good physical condition to perform surveys in challenging conditions, be punctual, focused, and able to follow directions, with background checks and motor vehicle record requirements. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor 0achelor's degree in botany, natural resources, plant sciences, wildlife biology or equivalent degree preferred
- Proficient in keying and identifying plant species of the desert southwest
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screening, and DMV records check
- Ability to travel, extensive field work, early morning surveys
- Experience or preference for additional biological science experience
