Job Summary
Provide project management and technical analysis for land use applications through the ULURP process; review, analyze, and make recommendations on applications submitted to the Department pursuant to ULURP; coordinate with technical divisions, city agencies, community boards, elected officials, and the public; analyze site plans to ensure compliance with NYC zoning and land use planning policies; organize and prepare graphic and written materials, including reports, maps, graphics, memos, and presentations for the City Planning Commission and others; support neighborhood planning studies and produce written technical reports and presentations; maintain knowledge of the NYC Zoning Resolution; serve as Department liaison to one or more Manhattan community boards; represent the department at meetings with civic, business and community groups; may require evening/weekend attendance; coordinate with other agency representatives on studies/projects; perform other related tasks.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning; graduate education in city planning, urban planning, urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, transportation engineering, public administration, economic development or related fields may be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 graduate semester credits from an accredited college for one year of experience. However, all candidates must have a baccalaureate degree.

- Permanent Civil Service status in the City Planner civil service title or reachable on the City Planner active civil service list (exam #5045)
