Job Summary
Borough Lead for the Mayor’s Office of Mass Engagement in New York City. Assist the Deputy Borough Director/Borough Manager with maintaining key relationships, identifying organizing opportunities, and building engagement across the borough. Attend civic/community board meetings and events, ensure follow-up on constituent cases, and support the Borough Team during emergencies (e.g., blackouts, high-profile incidents, fires, water main breaks). Role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and proactive engagement to advance the Office’s mission of inclusive, accountable, and effective public service. Requires a bachelor’s degree with relevant community organizing experience; alternative combinations of education/experience are acceptable per the posting.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or high school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
