Job Summary
Boring Mill Machinist role in Williston, VT: set up and operate manual horizontal boring mills to machine valve components and related parts per production orders, drawings, quality requirements, and customer specifications. Operate with close tolerances, perform calculations for speeds and feeds, and ensure safe, accurate, and efficient production while maintaining shop math proficiency (including trigonometry) and adherence to drawing conventions. Requires ability to read production orders and QCIs, follow established machining, inspection, and quality procedures, and uphold a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist in setup and operation of manual horizontal boring mills
- Ability to read drawings, perform shop math including trigonometry
- Must be able to calculate speeds and feeds
- Must be able to operate manual horizontal boring mill operations and related processes
- Must be able to produce parts to close tolerances and finish per drawings and production orders
- May be required to pass written and/or practical assessments
- Maintain good housekeeping and safe work practices
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the role (occasional medium to heavy physical effort)
- Possession of personal hand tools may be required
