Job Summary

Operate walk-behind vibratory plows (VP30) and auxiliary equipment to install underground fiber, conduit, and cable while assisting directional drilling crews with pot-holing, locating utilities, and pipe pulling. Set up job sites, expose existing utilities safely via hand digging or vacuum excavation, and ensure site restoration meets city and company standards. Maintain strict adherence to 811 utility marks, OSHA standards, and safe digging protocols while performing daily machine maintenance and pre-trip inspections. Requires hands-on experience with underground utility equipment, a valid driver's license, and the physical ability to work outdoors in Texas weather lifting up to 50+ lbs. Required Qualifications

  • Hands-On Experience: Proven track record operating underground utility equipment, specifically Ditch Witch VP30 vibratory plows or similar walk-behind drop/plow machinery.
  • Telecom / Utility Background: Experience in underground telecom, drop placement, or horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations.
  • Safety Mindset: Deep understanding of 811 underground utility locating, potholing requirements, and soft-digging techniques.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Physical Capability: Ability to work outdoors in Texas weather, lift up to 50+ lbs, and handle active physical field labor
