Job Summary
Conduct safe transportation, delivery, and placement of building materials at customer jobsites using commercial boom truck equipment. Plan delivery routes, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT/FMCSA regulations, and maintain communication with dispatch regarding status and delays. Operate hydraulic boom systems to unload and position materials while assessing hazards, securing loads, and obtaining customer signatures. Complete daily equipment inspections, maintain vehicle and boom systems, and accurately complete electronic logs and delivery documentation. Resolve delivery concerns professionally and represent QXO positively during all customer interactions. This role requires a valid CDL Class A or B license, medical certificate, and experience with hydraulic boom equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid CDL Class A or CDL Class B license in good standing
- Valid medical examiner's certificate (Medical Card)
- Applicable hoisting or crane operator certification where required by state or local regulations
- Clean driving record and ability to satisfy company driving requirements
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background requirements as applicable
- Ability to climb, bend, reach, lift, and safely enter or exit commercial vehicles throughout the workday
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to safely perform elevated lifting operations using boom equipment
- May require overtime, weekends, or flexible schedules based on customer and operational needs
Desired Qualifications
- Previous boom truck or hydraulic crane operation experience preferred
- Experience delivering building materials, drywall, lumber, millwork, roofing products, or similar materials preferred
- Forklift experience or material handling certification is a plus
