Bookkeeping Support Specialist

Job Summary
As a Bookkeeping Support Specialist at Layer, you will be the primary point of contact for SMB customers using Layer's bookkeeping service. You will run live video onboarding calls to gather key business context and complete bookkeeping setup (bank and credit card connections, historical bookkeeping needs), support customers via chat and email to diagnose issues and drive resolution, maintain accurate notes in internal systems, collaborate with other teams to improve workflows, and deliver thoughtful, proactive, detail-oriented support that exceeds partner and customer expectations.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing (support, onboarding, etc.) or bookkeeping role
- Familiarity with small business bookkeeping fundamentals and basic financial concepts
- Strong live communication and active listening skills
- Excellent written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- An ownership and growth mindset
