Job Summary
The Bookkeeping Specialist III role focuses on end-of-month services for credit unions, including EOM reconciliation, daily post-conversion bookkeeping, and corporate posting/balancing. Responsibilities include processing delinquent interest, subsidiary and investment postings, corporate accounts, and miscellaneous postings; creating processing guides and ROEs for onboarding credit unions; performing balancing projects; maintaining processing documents and records; cross-training on the stand-in services calendar; providing backup support and ultimately contributing to team objectives with precision in live credit union GL and member accounts. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, experience in accounting/bookkeeping, ability to handle confidential data, and strong communication skills. Preferred qualifications include a two-year degree in a business-related field and familiarity with CU*BASE or credit union core data platforms.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent is required
- Equivalent work experience equal to 1-2 years of prior office experience with a focus on bookkeeping or accounting services, operations, or leadership
Desired Qualifications
- Two-year degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping working on credit union core data platforms is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data
- Proven written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on professionalism, clarity, and problem resolution
