Job Summary
Bookkeeper to take full ownership of the bookkeeping function for a US-based construction business. Responsibilities include managing AR/AP, processing billing and invoicing, performing bank reconciliations, maintaining accurate financial records, updating bookkeeping systems, pulling financial reports, and ensuring timely payments. Requires independent work with minimal supervision, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication. Tools used include QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel; experience with construction/trades domain is advantageous. Ideal candidate self-directed, proactive, dependable, and able to manage the complete bookkeeping function with minimal oversight.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
- Advanced QuickBooks proficiency
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with US-based businesses (advantageous)
- Experience working New York/Eastern Time hours (advantageous)
- Construction or trades industry experience (advantageous)
