Job Summary
Bookkeeper and finance manager based in Virginia Beach, VA. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, payroll activities, HR functions, and assisting executives with day-to-day tasks. Maintain calendars, prepare presentations, proof papers, plan minor projects, and track progress of assigned projects. Proficient in QuickBooks, spreadsheet use, note taking, scheduling, report writing, and email communications. Plan travel, logistics, and events; provide ongoing status to stakeholders. Minimal office management duties such as errands and maintaining a tidy office. Strong communication and organizational skills with leadership potential; opportunity for career advancement.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship (or authorized to work in the USA)
- College degree (or two years of college minimum)
- Proficiency with computers and software
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
- Bookkeeping experience using QuickBooks or equivalent software
- Experience with payroll and benefits administration
- Experience with employer required filings and taxes (not corporate income tax)
- Experience using Apple productivity apps (a Mac-friendly person)
- Experience budgeting and estimating various things (spreadsheet jockey)
- Experience shipping (UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.)
- Experience booking travel
- Several positive personal or professional references
