Job Summary
Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers, reconcile and balance accounts, and generate and analyze financial statements. Prepare and process payroll, including generating 1099s, W2s, and calculating tax statements. Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors, and banking contacts while assisting in client retention and growth opportunities. Maintain high standards of confidentiality and attention to detail in all financial reporting and client interactions. This franchise location operates under an agreement with H&R Block, where the team blends human expertise with digital innovation to serve communities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or the ability to successfully obtain certifications
- 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience
- Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures
- Ability to correctly interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations
- Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Analytical skills and an eye for details
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Xero accounting software
