Job Summary
Manage cashier window transactions, process payments and receipts, and handle customer inquiries. Maintain accurate financial records by posting and compiling data for accounting purposes, performing bank reconciliations for daily deposits, and verifying invoice accuracy against supporting documents. Execute department timekeeping duties to maintain precise employee records and meet deadlines. This permanent Bookkeeper role requires civil service status and involves completing 30 semester credits in accounting or equivalent experience. Required Qualifications
- Completion of 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), including 6 credits in accounting
- A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization
- Two years of satisfactory full-time bookkeeping experience
- A satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the first two options
- At least one year of experience as a Bookkeeper (40526)
- At least four years of satisfactory full-time bookkeeping experience
- High school diploma or its educational equivalent
- Six semester credits in accounting from an accredited college
- Six months of experience as a Bookkeeper
