Job Summary
Junior Bookkeeper reports to the Client Manager and supports client bookkeeping and office administration. Responsibilities include entering financial transactions (AP/AR, GL), coordinating payroll matters with tax withholdings and deductions, preparing detailed financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) for management review, assisting audits with documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance (tax filings, GST), performing reconciliations (bank, credit card, other balances), monitoring expenses, and supporting month-end and year-end close. The role requires strong analytical, communication, time-management, and detail-oriented skills, with initiative and the ability to maintain confidential financial information. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and MS Office is expected. Reports to the Client Manager and collaborates with the finance team; also provides administrative support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary school completion; a degree or certification in accounting or finance is preferred.
- 1-2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, specifically with QuickBooks Online.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (MS Office).
