Job Summary
Bookkeeper coordinates financial recording across multiple entities and projects, including vendor/subcontractor invoicing, job cost tracking, accounts payable/receivable, client billing, and payroll administration, while preparing financial summaries and supporting monthly/quarterly closes and audits. Requires QuickBooks Online proficiency, multi-entity experience, strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and cost codes in a construction context.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience (construction or project-based industry strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required); multi-entity accounting experience a plus
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costing
- Experience with construction draw billing, progress billings, and contract-based invoicing
- Familiarity with construction management systems and project cost coding workflows
- Comfortable working with outside accounting firm/CPA (sharing reports, documentation, year-end/audit support)
- High attention to detail with impact on project profitability reporting across multiple entities
- Ability to manage multiple projects, companies, and cost codes simultaneously
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (Excel or Sheets)
- Preferred: Direct experience in residential construction, home building, or design-build
- Preferred: Experience across multiple company entities or divisions
- Preferred: Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field
