Job Summary
Schedule and book patient appointments for designated radiology areas, coordinating times with patients, doctors, nursing units, and surgical staff. Arrange follow-up appointments, locate images prior to visits, and rearrange schedules to meet changing demands. Prepare and confirm patient information, enter booking and image data into computerized systems, file requisitions, and act as receptionist to support patient care delivery. Perform scheduling functions in accordance with professional practice standards and client-centered care models.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12
- two years' recent related experience
- equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work
- Ability to operate related equipment
