Job Summary
Identify, research, and secure guests for news programs, interviews, special reports, and feature segments by conducting outreach to subject matter experts, public officials, community leaders, authors, and other potential guests. Coordinate guest logistics, including scheduling, travel arrangements, technical requirements, and pre-interview briefings, while collaborating with producers, assignment editors, and editorial staff to develop guest recommendations aligned with story angles. Vet guests through background research and credential verification, then serve as the primary point of contact for confirmed guests, providing timely communication and addressing questions regarding appearances and production requirements. Assist with preparing guest briefing materials, biographical information, and background notes for producers, hosts, and reporters, and support breaking news coverage by rapidly identifying and securing knowledgeable guests under tight deadlines. Maintain and expand a database of contacts, experts, spokespersons, and recurring contributors to support future programming needs, ensuring booking activities comply with organizational policies, editorial standards, and journalistic ethics.
Required Qualifications
- Preferred Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area, plus the ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned
