Job Summary
Review submissions and write reader's reports, conduct competitive research on proposals, and write acquisition memos for projects. Prepare descriptive sales copy for tip sheets, write cover and jacket flap copy, and draft rejection letters. Submit copyright registrations, prepare and transmit manuscripts, and create PDFs for sales and marketing. Create and maintain schedules, check alts against proofread pages, and perform administrative tasks including copying, mailing, and correspondence. This paid internship offers a 12-month commitment averaging 40 hours/week at $17.00/hour for students or recent graduates in Communications, Journalism, English, Creative Writing, or Marketing with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign.
Required Qualifications
- Students of or recent graduates with a degree in Communications, Journalism/Strategic Communications, English, Creative Writing or Marketing
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign
