Job Summary
Mental Health Technician (Community Coordinator) in Waterford, VA, supporting adolescents in a residential treatment setting. Responsibilities include coordinating and transporting clients to daily activities, utilizing crisis intervention and communication skills with clients and families, collaborating with the program nurse and clinical team on medication management, documenting client activities in the electronic health record (BestNotes), maintaining a safe and hygienic residence, and participating in a multidisciplinary care plan to support each client's wellness journey. Requires education: High School Diploma or GED with Bachelor's degree preferred; strong communication, empathy, and professional excellence; proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and terminology related to clinical care; 32 hours per week, schedule Monday-Tuesday 6:30am-3:00pm and Friday-Saturday 2:30pm-11:00pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor's preferred
- Valid Driver’s License with certain driving history
- Background checks (ADP Selective Screening Services and other Federal/State checks)
- Ability to work on computer, walk/stand, lift up to 20 lbs., navigate stairs
- Strong communication skills with families, clients, and staff
- Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Suite
- Experience with medication management coordination and documentation
- Ability to document in electronic health records (BestNotes)
- Safety procedures knowledge (Joint Commission)
- CA DSS regulations familiarity
