Job Summary
Follow clearly defined bone density radiographic procedures to deliver high-quality images for physician diagnosis and disease monitoring. Execute safe, precise procedures by integrating education, technical competence, and patient interaction skills to gain patient cooperation through competent assessment and effective communication. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations regarding privacy and safety while ensuring optimal patient care. Utilize general knowledge of diagnostic principles, equipment operation, and human anatomy to perform routine examinations and solve standard problems within established time-frames. Manage protected health information (PHI) and collaborate with peers and healthcare providers to achieve departmental objectives. Requires BLS certification, DEXA permit, or CRT licensure, plus one year of relevant experience. Full-time day or evening shifts with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED Graduation from a California State accredited educational program in Limited Permit Bone Densitometry
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- RHB-Radiology Bone Densitometry Limited Permit (DEXA) OR CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist (from state where work is being performed)
- 1 year recent relevant experience
- General knowledge of diagnostic bone density radio-graphic principles, procedures, and views as well as the operation and maintenance of radiology equipment
- Capable of performing routine bone density radio-graphic examinations
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Solid written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people
- Good time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadline
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) and related information systems (Radiology (RIS), laboratory (LIS), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and picture archive and communication system (PACS))
- Ability to work under close supervision or within clearly defined procedures to complete assignments within established time-frames
- Ability to use existing procedures to identify and solve routine or standard problems
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
- Availability for Rotating Weekends
