Job Summary
Civil fire-safety role focused on classroom and facility safety. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections (extinguishers, hydrants, alarms, emergency routes), ensuring safe evacuation during emergencies, supporting basic first aid, participating in and facilitating fire and evacuation drills and lockdown drills when applicable, promoting a culture of health and safety, and maintaining records and reports of incidents and inspections. The role supports adherence to school safety policies and audits, with guidance from ISP safeguarding principles and required vetting processes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in safety and emergency procedures preferred
- Ability to perform safety inspections and report risks
- Knowledge of fire drill planning and execution
- Ability to assist in training and guiding staff on safety procedures
- Compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding policies
- Criminal background checks or equivalent vetting procedures (stated in posting)
