BOILERMAKER - Austin Industrial - Orange, TX

Construct, assemble, maintain, and repair stationary steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries by examining vessels to locate defects, bolting or arc welding pressure vessel structures, and inspecting assembled components for leaks or weak spots. Repair or replace defective parts using torches, jacks, and welding equipment, while attaching rigging to assist crane operators in lifting heavy sections. Study blueprints to determine part dimensions and positions, then shape seams, align structural parts, and install manholes and gauges following specified fit requirements. Clean pressure vessel equipment and install refractory bricks in fireboxes, ensuring leakproof joints before installation. Requires NCCER Boilermaker certification, 3-5 years of Journeyman experience, and a valid driver's license.
