Job Summary
Boilermaker 1 with 4+ years of experience required to read blueprints and specifications to determine scope (locations, quantities, sizes), identify tools, assess safety risks, fabricate equipment, hoist via bull rigging or crane, verify alignment of structural-steel members, connect columns/beams/girders with bolts for permanent riveting/bolting, position iron/steel equipment, and weld/cut iron/steel pieces. Must meet physical requirements and pass pre-employment contingencies (physical, drug screen, MVR). Preferred NCCER certification and formal/technical education. Will work at heights and use PPE; must have reliable transportation and be willing to perform additional duties as instructed.

- Ability to take lead in erection of steel, fabrication, grid layout, rigging etc.
- Ability to perform all job duties of craft trade.
- Read and understand IFC drawings.
- Ability to locate piece marks for correct views and know how to pick out different elevations.
- Knowledge of safe rigging practices (chokers, slings, etc.)
- Ability to dictate correct knots based on material
- Know all aspects of connecting
- Correct procedures of Bolting
- Torque vs Tension knowledge
- Ability to read cut sheets
- Layout from drawing
- Cut material from lay out and cut sheets
- Torque and tension values understanding
- Turn of the nut method
- Indication tools understanding
- JLG man baskets, cranes knowledge
- Basic maintenance and safe operations practices
- Math skills (footage, arithmetic operations) to perform craft duties
- Welding and cutting knowledge (Mig, stick, gas)
- Equipment knowledge related to construction equipment
