Job Summary
Weld metal pieces, prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning, and utilize fabrication skills to complete all phases of fabrication. Rebuild drill pipes by welding tools together, learn bit grinding, and repair rocktools such as hammers and bits. Provide feedback on order of assembly, design, materials, and fixtures to the fabrication process. Requires 3-5 years of welding/fabrication experience, ability to read blueprints, and Class C truck license. Work in pit and workshop environments with noise exposure; lifting items up to 75 lbs. Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in welding/fabrication
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, including welding diagrams and symbols
- Ability to use hand tools
- Incumbents are required to understand fabrication processes
- Ability to learn and practice bit grinding
- Ability to learn and repair rocktools such as hammers and bits
- Certificate in Metal Fabrication or Equivalent
- Trade Certificate, Diploma or Equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Ability to drive a truck of class C licence
- HiAB operation
