Job Summary
Boiler Controls Technician responsible for wiring, firing, and testing boilers in the shop and field; rebuilds control valves and regulators; builds and tests control panels and fuel skids using engineering schematics; tests condensate tanks and deaerators; trims out firetube and watertube boilers; performs start-up of rental boilers in the field; reads blueprints and wiring schematics; troubleshoots and sets combustion on boilers with various pneumatic and electrical controls; trains other employees on operation and boiler controls; maintains tools and monitors; travel up to 50% for site work; Des Moines, IA relocation available; requires 6+ years boiler experience and PLC/controls knowledge; valid driver’s license; ability to read schematics and work from blueprints; strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six (6) years of boiler experience on the electrical and control environment.
- Must possess a valid drivers license with a safe driving record.
- Must be knowledgeable of PLC’s, transformers, transmitters and other boiler controls.
- Must be able to read and work from blueprints and schematics.
