Job Summary
Conduct high-quality metal finishing and sub-straight operations including sandblasting, fill work, priming, foaming, and compartment lining to prepare modules and assemblies for paint. Detect defects such as dents, scratches, or breaks; mix polyester resins and hardeners; apply caulk and seal seams; spray primer and foam insulation; and sand surfaces between coats. Verify final finish bodywork and inspect liner application for quality and consistency. Receive and interpret work orders to plan procedures, tooling, and material requirements. Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals and operate equipment including spray guns and hoses. Maintain cleanliness and pass required physical examinations and drug tests.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of body working techniques and two years prior working experience in automotive bodywork
- Experience with sanding, priming, foaming operation of the module and/or compartment liners
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds with assistance
- Ability to pass spirometric testing and physical examinations without restrictions
- Ability to successfully pass a post offer drug test, as well as random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug and alcohol test thereafter
- Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds with assistance, regularly require to walk, talk and hear, reach with hands and arms, stand, crouch and kneel
- Ability to frequently use hand to finger dexterity in order to handle objects, tools, and/or controls
- Ability to occasionally required to stoop or crawl
- Ability to operate all job-related equipment or machines at acceptable productivity and quality levels
- Ability to demonstrate reasonable and reliable attendance
- Ability to maintain any required licensures and/or certifications
