Job Summary
Repairs damaged body parts and vehicles per estimate and manufacturer standards, checking parts against orders and ensuring proper materials are received. Prepares vehicles for body work, operates tools and equipment safely, and maintains all tools and equipment in proper condition. Notifies management of additional repairs needed, difficulties affecting job quality or time, or deviations in hazardous material compliance. Cooperates with other personnel on repair and prepping tasks while maintaining required safety and health personal protective equipment. Complies with federal, state, and local regulations regarding paint, thinners, and hazardous waste disposal.
Required Qualifications
- Two to four years related experience and/or training
- I-CAR Certificate of Advanced Training
- Advanced Vehicle Systems
- Aluminum Repair, Replacement and Welding
- Collision Repair 2000
- Electronics for Collision Repair
- Understanding Collision Repair
- Workplace Hazardous Materials
- State of Michigan collision repair license
- Valid Driver's License
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Must have close vision
- Must have distance vision
- Must have color vision
- Must have peripheral vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
