Job Summary
Execute the meticulous assessment and quality repair of customer vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition. Plan necessary repair work, prepare cost estimates, and utilize tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks to disassemble, reassemble, and fix structural damage. Hammers out dents, apply filler resins, realign chassis frames, replace damaged sections, and weld or attach parts before preparing and repainting vehicles with factory-specified paint. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets labor time guidelines and quality standards while maintaining WOW Operating Way protocols. Requires high school diploma, technical school completion, or apprenticeship, with the ability to work safely in noisy areas with odors and lift up to 30 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
- Ability to read job orders and work with very little supervision
- Ability to work with other repairers within an auto body shop
- Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
- Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade
- Ability to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at times
- Ability to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
