Job Summary
Body Shop Technician responsibilities include repairing vehicles per estimate and manufacturer standards, checking parts against estimates and ensuring proper parts are ordered, preparing vehicles for body repair, identifying additional parts or repairs, reviewing repair orders and notes, following warranty guidelines, maintaining current technical knowledge, performing work efficiently and accurately, teardown and inspection for hidden repairs, advising the estimator of additional damage, leading apprentice technicians, and maintaining iCar certifications. Skills emphasized include welding, suspension and framework experience, ASE certifications (Damage Analysis and Estimating, Mechanical and Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair, and State Vehicle Inspector), valid driver's license with clean record, and adherence to equal opportunity practices. The role requires teamwork in a family-oriented shop with growth opportunities and a focus on quality workmanship.
Required Qualifications
- Welding, suspension, framework experience a plus OR willing to learn/train
- ASE Certifications; Damage Analysis and Estimating, Mechanical and Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair and State Vehicle Inspector (preferred)
- Certifications listed above or equivalent experience and eagerness to improve
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
