Job Summary
Repair damaged body parts and vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards. Repairs vehicles per estimate, checks parts against estimates to ensure proper ordering and receipt, and prepares vehicles for body repair work. Notifies management of additional repairs needed, difficulties preventing quality work, or changes to promised time. Maintains tools and equipment, wears required personal protective equipment, and complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, hazardous materials, and OSHA standards. Cooperates with other personnel and operates all tools and equipment safely. Obtain I-CAR Advanced Training and state-specific certifications for aluminum repair, collision repair, and structural analysis. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, earning $17.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Two to four years related experience and/or training
- I-CAR Certificate of Advanced Training
- Advanced Vehicle Systems
- Aluminum Repair, Replacement and Welding
- Collision Repair 2000 or new equivalents
- Electronics for Collision Repair
- Understanding Collision Repair
- Workplace Hazardous Materials
- Plastic Repair
- Valid Driver's License
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications
- Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair
- Structural Analysis and Damage Repair Certification for Collision Repair
- State of Michigan Unitized Body Structural Repair Certification
- State of Michigan Collision Related Mechanical Repair Certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
