Body Shop Technician 1st Shift

Job Summary
Examine damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs, then remove upholstery, trim, and damaged panels to access the body. Position dollies to remove dents, fill depressions with body filler, and weld replacement parts. Straighten bent frames using pneumatic machines, file, grind, and sand surfaces before refinish painting. Aims headlights, aligns wheels, and bleeds hydraulic brake systems while repairing defective mechanical parts. Perform all tasks adhering to OSHA and H&K safety policies. Requires one year of technical school certification or three months of related experience, plus strong communication skills and ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Pre-employment drug testing and physical are required.
Required Qualifications
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school or three months of related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combinations of experience and/or training may be considered
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Pre-employment drug testing
- Pre-employment physical
Desired Qualifications
- General Computer skills including internet usage, knowledge of database software, manufacturing software, and order processing systems
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
- Six months of related experience and/or training
- Experience with collision repair, sanding, painting, and/or detailing
- OSHA or other relevant safety training
- Experience in heavy civil construction, road construction, or other heavy industry
