Job Summary
Perform initial check-in, prewash, and systematic teardown of vehicles per estimates, mapping unrelated damage and taking detailed photos for insurance supplements. Disassemble parts for replacement or repair, then label, inventory, and store all components to prevent loss. Reassemble vehicles after body and paint work, preparing parts by cleaning, sanding, and masking as needed. Maintain neat paint areas and disassembly stalls while installing bedliners for specialty services. This role minimizes supplements by identifying hidden damage before repairs begin. The position requires reading estimates and using hand/power tools safely in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in an auto body shop, specifically in disassembly, teardown, or as an apprentice technician
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and collision repair processes
- Ability to read and comprehend written estimates and repair orders
- Attention to detail, with a focus on identifying hidden damage
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- I-CAR training or ASE certification
