Job Summary
Examine damaged vehicles to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage. Estimate labor and parts costs for repairs or replacements, then review these estimates with the body shop manager or foreman. Evaluate repair feasibility versus replacement for items like bumpers and doors, and assess practicality of repair against vehicle market value before accidents. Determine salvage value on total losses, prepare insurance forms, and estimate costs for repainting or customizing undamaged vehicles. Requires previous estimator experience, certification preference, familiarity with insurance guidelines, and a valid driver's license. Offers uncapped earning potential through bonuses and commissions, weekly pay, and 401K matching.
