Job Summary
Afternoon-shift Body & Chassis Test Technician responsible for mechanical preparation, instrumentation installation and removal, test execution, data collection, and post-test cleanup in a lab environment. Performs testing on vehicle subsystems, works with transducers, accelerometers, load cells, and potentiometers, and supports test engineers for standard and one-off tests. Requires strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, ability to work independently with quality and safety focus, and willingness to cross-train. Training on day shift for 6–8 weeks; opportunities for reassignment to other sites. Emphasis on maintaining data quality and customer satisfaction while following health and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Proficient electrical and mechanical knowledge and skills
- Good interpersonal, computer, oral and written skills
- Preferred: Associate’s in Automotive Technology or 2 years’ experience + college
- Experience in testing environment including hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of vehicle systems (chassis, body, seat, suspension)
- Fabrication experience: machine shop tools
- Print reading and test fixture layout/build
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, health eval, background check
- Clear, concise and accurate English communications
