Job Summary
Boat Operator aboard a Fast Response vessel in Richmond, CA with a 3 weeks on/3 weeks off rotation. Under the Senior Boat Operator, responsibilities include vessel navigation, operations, and safety of the crew and vessel; train and supervise the deck crew for operations and readiness; conduct regular emergency drills; monitor crew health and coordinate medical treatments aboard; support administrative duties (records, budget information, documents) and communicate with the Regional Marine Operations Manager. Requires USCG license (100-ton preferred), ability to train/deploy deck crew, leadership and strong written/oral communication, ability to operate industrial equipment and a computer, and ability to obtain drivers license, TWIC, and U.S. Passport. Physical requirements include lifting up to 45 lbs and working in varied weather and sea conditions. Salary range: $117,218 to $137,573 per year.
Required Qualifications
- Current USCG license
- Ability to train and supervise the deck crew for operations and readiness
- Capable of prolonged, strenuous work onboard vessels at sea
- Effective leadership and written and oral communication skills
- Ability to operate industrial equipment and their systems safely
- Ability to operate a personal computer
- Ability to obtain a valid drivers license, TWIC, and U.S. Passport
