Job Summary
Load, deliver, and set up motor homes, trailers, and boats for customers within a 200-mile radius, including moving units between store locations and securing heavy loads at destination sites. Utilize navigation tools to optimize routes while performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fueling, and minor repairs on company vehicles. Maintain organization on store lots and adhere to all safety protocols and traffic rules during operations. Work Monday through Saturday for 20–30 hours weekly at $19–$21/hour, with flexibility required for peak Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Driver's license, clear of major infractions, and subject to approval from the insurance company
- Ability to drive up to 3 hours at a time, which may include Poughkeepsie (S), Plattsburgh (N), and the Finger Lake Region (W)
- Flexibility to work Saturdays (peak, as needed)
- Physical strength and endurance with ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently to move objects
- Exposure to outside adverse environmental conditions, such as fumes, dust, oils and lubricating fluids, mechanical moving parts, moving vehicles, fluctuating weather conditions, and occasional hazardous chemicals or materials
Desired Qualifications
- Class B CDL/Class A CDL with Air Brake endorsement preferred, but not required
- Experience towing/delivering boats and personal water craft
- Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
- Deep understanding of hitching, backing, and maneuvering a wide variety of boat trailers in tight spaces, launch ramps, and marinas
- Strong understanding of marine craft operation, and basic troubleshooting (batteries, spark plugs, etc)
- Proficient in securing heavy loads, tying down loose items
- Awareness and basic knowledge lake/river conditions. (ie– Water levels, wind conditions, hazards, utilities, etc.)
