Job Summary
Direct ferry activities and operate the vessel safely and efficiently while serving as the primary contact with the USCG for compliance. Administer onboard training and drills, ensuring high customer service during passenger embarkation and debarkation. Perform safe vessel tie-ups, dock hand work, and support non-motorized waterfront operations. Conduct repairs, modifications, and maintenance of marine systems including pumps, lines, and hoses. Maintain accurate logs and records while interacting professionally with clients and management.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid USCG License
- Valid TWIC card
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects and/or equipment
- Ability to take and adhere to instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others
- Small boat handling skills
- Passenger vessel experience
- Ability to stand and walk on nearly a constant basis
- Ability to bend, rotate and reach frequently
- Ability to carry, push/pull and/or lift materials weighing upwards of 75 lbs
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs or ladders safely
- Ability to manipulate/handle/grip materials required to perform job
- Ability to maneuver through/in/around small and/or confined areas within the vessel
- Ability to maintain both static and dynamic standing balance to complete various duties associated with job
- Ability to perform emergency duties as listed in the vessel's station bill
- Vision correctible to 20/40 with full color vision and no night blindness
