Job Summary
Conduct emergency and surgical care for a diverse caseload as the only specialty center in Newfoundland and Labrador. Manage complex procedures using advanced tools including Storz arthroscopic equipment, C-arm imaging, and harmonic scalpel technology. Collaborate closely with surgical support teams, registered veterinary technicians, and a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner to deliver comprehensive patient management. Provide diagnostic imaging services via in-house 32 slice CT and 1.5 T MRI while overseeing chemotherapy and ICU care. Work within a fast-paced environment that prioritizes work-life balance and team collaboration, supporting the province's only fully staffed 24-hour emergency department.
Required Qualifications
- Board certification as a veterinary surgeon (SA) or board eligible
- Licensed (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Newfoundland and Labrador
- Outstanding communication skills, especially when dealing with clients
- Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude are a must
