Job Summary
Provide behavioral intervention plans (BIPs), conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBAs), collect and analyze data to support students; train and collaborate with staff and parents; participate in IEP processes (annual reviews, re-evaluations, initial evaluations); collaborate with teachers, support staff, and paraprofessionals around FBAs and BIPs; support and train staff in effectively carrying out FBAs and BIPs; be Safety Care trained and model its use; provide professional development on behavioral interventions; communicate with IEP teams including parents; collaborate on substantial separate programs (ASD and therapeutic classrooms) and support PBIS structures; participate in pre-referral MTSS; provide behavioral consultation to general education; assist in developing PBIS structures and programming.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed BCBA
- MA DESE Certification: Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities (All Levels)
- Experience working in special education
- Safety Care trained (the district can provide this training if needed)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
