Job Summary
Lead clinical behavioral services as a BCBA/QBMP in California residential programs. The role involves conducting FBAs, developing and updating BSPs and BIPs, implementing evidence-based interventions, overseeing data-driven, trauma-informed care, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include staff training and supervision of DSPs, RBTs, and other team members; crisis prevention planning; collaboration with interdisciplinary teams; and ensuring quality client outcomes. Requires Master’s degree and BCBA or QBMP certification (or California-appropriate licensure) with minimum 2 years direct service experience, experience with FBAs and BSPs, and ability to train staff. Employment in a residential setting with potential evening/weekend/on-call duties; relocation not specified. Must meet California DDS/CCL/Medicaid requirements and hold a valid CA driver’s license; health screening and professional certifications (PCM, CPR/First Aid) completed. Strong knowledge of ABA principles, crisis de-escalation, data analysis, and person-centered practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or related field; OR Qualification as QBMP under California regulations
- Current BCBA certification OR QBMP status meeting California regulatory requirements OR Licensed professional authorized to design behavior modification services under California regulations
- Minimum two (2) years of direct service, behavioral consultation, supervision, or behavior modification services to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Minimum six (6) months of direct experience focused on behavioral services
- Experience conducting FBAs, Behavior Support Plan development, Staff training and supervision, Crisis intervention planning, and Data collection and analysis
- Experience working in residential services preferred
- Knowledge of ABA principles, developmental disabilities and autism, positive behavior support, crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to train, mentor, and supervise staff
- Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing residential services
- Commitment to diversity and person-centered practices
- Possession of health screening (TB), certification in PCM or equivalent, CPR/First Aid, Live Scan clearance, valid CA driver’s license
