Job Summary
Develop behavior intervention plans, curricula, and goals for students with autism spectrum disorder and other disabilities while conducting behavior assessments and monitoring progress. Consult with interdisciplinary team members to modify programming, oversee implementation of protocols, and ensure behavioral strategies are applied consistently across all clinical settings. Train direct care staff and management on applied behavior analysis principles, social skills, and data-taking mechanisms, including on-site modeling and orientation sessions. Assist in supervising 1:1 teachers and case managers, manage intake documentation for insurance compliance, and represent the team at community events to expand the client base. Work Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 5:30 pm, year-round, maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to BACB ethical guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with providing behavioral services to individuals with ASD
- BCBA certifications through BACB
- Master's Degree
- Communicate professionally and effectively with school employees, Interdisciplinary Team members, administrators, contract liaisons, and family members
- Be reliable with timeliness and attendance
- Work as an effective and productive member of a team
- Be receptive and responsive to feedback from coworkers and supervisors
- Provide an organized environment for safe and effective teaching and learning
- Provide a welcoming and compassionate environment for the students and their caregivers
- Work with students with Developmental Disabilities, academic deficits, and behavioral needs
- Exhibit patience and flexibility, maintain a positive attitude, and handle stressful situations appropriately
- Demonstrate good problem solving, leadership, and judgement
- Meet physical requirements in order to safely manage behavior and actively participate with students
- Respond quickly and effectively in emergency situations
- Maintain personal hygiene and care
- Maintain current CPR, First Aid, and SAMA certifications
- Maintain current Driver's License
- Maintain current automobile insurance
- Maintain required annual training certifications provided by the company and/or agency licensing
- Must be able to safely complete the following tasks involving tools and equipment: Measure temperature using ear thermometer
- Must be able to safely complete the following tasks involving tools and equipment: Drive automobile or wheelchair-accessible van
- Must be able to safely complete the following tasks involving tools and equipment: Assist with the use of Alternative and Augmentative Communication Devices
- Must be able to safely complete the following tasks involving tools and equipment: Monitor fire alarm devices
- Must be able to safely complete the following tasks involving tools and equipment: Use computers, tablets, iPads, copy machines, and cell phones as needed
- Monday - Thursday from 7 am - 5:30 pm
- Year round
- Occasionally (1 – 33% of the time)
- Lift and carry 40lbs – 80lbs while handling students
- Push a wheelchair holding a student whose total weight may exceed 200 pounds
- Engage in gross motor movements such as running and physically redirecting students whose total weight may exceed 200 pounds in order to maintain their safety and the safety of others
- Moderate strength and stamina are required in emergency situations
- Frequently (34 – 66% of the time)
- Perform SAMA techniques with students whose total weight may exceed 200 pounds
- Constantly (67 – 100% of the time)
- Engage in fine-motor movements such as grasping small objects
- Engage in gross-motor movements such as standing, walking, bending, and squatting in order to respond to needs of the students
- Engage in the range of motion necessary to work and play with the students
- Engage in the range of motion necessary to assist with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, eating, and other personal care tasks
- Uphold the BACB's ethical and best practices guidelines
