Job Summary
Complete 36-40 hours of classroom instruction and pass all tests with an 80% score. Perform 75 hours of supervised practicum in a long-term care facility, demonstrating required skills and maintaining daily attendance records signed by licensed supervisors. Pass a criminal background check, TB test, and physical prior to enrollment. Attend all mandatory sessions to meet Indiana State Department of Health requirements. Successfully complete the program to receive a certificate and a scheduled state exam, which is paid for by Miller's Merry Manor if hired and in good standing.
Required Qualifications
- Pass the state exam to become a Certified Nurse's Aide
- Complete 36-40 hours of classroom work
- Pass (with 80%) all of the tests administered during the classroom portion
- Have 3 attempts to pass classroom tests
- Complete 75 hours of supervised practicum in a long-term care facility
- Perform all required skills successfully during practicum
- Pass a criminal background check
- Pass a TB test
- Pass a physical
- Attend all classroom sessions
- Complete the 'clinical sign-in record' form
- Sign the 'clinical sign-in record' form
- Have a licensed supervisor cosign the 'clinical sign-in record'
- Include date and actual hours worked on the 'clinical sign-in record'
- Demonstrate and sign off on all skills checklists booklets (RCP's) during the clinicals
- Submit completed checklist (RCP) booklets at the completion of the clinicals
- Have all required skills completed on the checklist (RCP) booklets
